Here at NSBC, we are seeking to help every member of the family, from the youngest to the oldest, find a peaceful and meaningful life through a saving and life-changing relationship with Jesus Christ. We are seeking to be the family of believers God has called us to be.
We hold to the tenets of the Baptist Faith and Message. We are a missions-minded church that supports local, state, national and international missions through our affiliation with the Southern Baptist Convention, the Tennessee Baptist Mission Board and the Holston Baptist Association.
NSBC ministries include worshipful music, solid Biblical preaching and teaching and Bible study for the entire family. All events are built around the family atmosphere of our church and on the brotherhood we share in Jesus Christ.
We observe two ordinances here at NSBC; water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper (also known as Communion). These ordinances are public expressions of our obedience to the teachings of Jesus Christ.
We believe water baptism is not essential to salvation but is a symbolic expression of our death and burial to the old life of sin and the rebirth to a new life in Christ. The Lord’s Supper, reminiscent of Jesus’ Last Supper with His disciples, is a reminder of Christ’s broken body on the cross and the blood He shed for the remission of our sins
